Electronics Engineer Location: South Wales / Hybrid Salary: £40,000 - £55,000

Role Overview:

The Electronics Engineer will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and testing electronic hardware to support the client's cutting-edge products. This position involves leading hardware design, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions. Key Responsibilities:

Drive the development of innovative electronic designs, including prototyping and testing. Develop and implement solutions to enhance product quality and performance. Manage customer requirements for hardware design, coordinating with internal and external suppliers. Perform acceptance testing for products from suppliers. Oversee qualification and testing of physical designs, including compliance with EMC and radio performance standards. Generate and maintain technical documentation, including schematics, BOMs, and PCB layouts. Conduct feasibility studies and provide recommendations for new technical innovations. Occasionally travel within the UK and abroad as required. Experience and Skills Required:

Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering with an excellent academic record. At least 2 years' experience in analogue and digital electronic hardware design. Strong knowledge of microcontrollers, low-power design, high-speed digital design, and lithium battery power management. Experience with simulation tools (e.g., Spice), schematic capture, PCB layout, and library management (Altium or similar). Ability to work independently on multiple projects as part of a small engineering team. Proficiency in compliance standards such as CE, FCC, EMC, and RoHS. Skilled in using test equipment like oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and signal generators. Embedded firmware programming in C. Experience with MATLAB/Octave or similar analytical tools. Knowledge of radio system certification. Design experience with microcontrollers (e.g., ARM, AVR, MSP430) and GSM/GPRS technology. Expertise in power converter and audio system design. Familiarity with designing products for intrinsic safety (ATEX, IECEx, Hazloc).
