Production Planner & Logistics Coordinator , you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and optimizing production schedules and internal logistical operations. Your duties will include: Production Planning: Develop and maintain efficient production schedules, ensuring that resources are optimally utilized and customer deadlines are met. Coordinate with the sales and logistics teams to prioritize orders, particularly urgent or high-value jobs, to maintain high OTIF (On-Time, In-Full) results. Monitor and adjust the production schedule based on resource availability such as manpower, equipment, and materials. Communicate daily schedules and targets to the production team, aligning everyone on priorities. Logistics Coordination: Manage internal logistics operations to ensure on-time dispatch and delivery of finished goods. Work closely with internal teams to organize incoming and outgoing deliveries, ensuring smooth operations. Ensure transport logistics are in place to meet delivery deadlines. Communication & Collaboration: Act as the main point of contact for Sales regarding product availability and production updates. Collaborate with the Production, Sales, and Transport Managers to align on order fulfillment and production schedules. Liaise with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery of raw materials, resolving supply chain issues when necessary. Data Management & Reporting: Track production performance, including output rates, downtime, and job completion times. Prepare and present regular reports to the management team on production performance and efficiency. Team Leadership: Lead a small logistics team, ensuring daily performance is aligned with company goals. Provide coaching and support to foster a high-performing team environment. Process Improvement & Problem Solving: Continuously assess production and logistics processes to identify opportunities for improvement and cost savings. Proactively resolve any production or logistics bottlenecks to minimize disruptions. Health, Safety, and Compliance: Ensure adherence to company health, safety, and environmental standards in all production and logistics activities. Work closely with the operations team to identify and mitigate potential risks related to scheduling and product availability. Person Specification: To be successful in this role, you will need: Proven experience in production planning, logistics coordination, or supply chain management within a manufacturing or industrial setting. Strong understanding of production scheduling, capacity planning, and inventory management. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; experience with production planning software or ERP systems is an advantage. Strong leadership skills with a focus on team development and performance. Budget Responsibilities: Work closely with the Operations Manager and General Manager to ensure profitability is maintained or exceeded. Management Responsibilities: Foster a positive, high-performing team culture. Contribute production planning insights and ideas to the wider team to ensure business targets and performance are achieved. Inspire and develop the logistics team to deliver excellent standards of work and customer service.
