29/01/2025 We are currently recruiting Mechanical & Electrical Technicians to cover the West of Thames Water Region. Operational base will be Maple Lodge; however, the successful candidate can be located either in Oxford, Reading, or the Swindon area. As the successful candidate, you will be working in multi-discipline teams and will be responsible for carrying out scheduled, unscheduled and emergency maintenance work on mechanical and electrical equipment in compliance with company procedures to minimise plant breakdown. This is an excellent opportunity to make a real difference to Thames Water's environmental impact and actively help to reduce pollution from our sites. What you’ll be doing as the Mechanical & Electrical Technician
Investigate plant failures and perform repairs as quickly and efficiently as possible to avoid interruptions to the process. Provide technical advice and support for technical trainees if required. Work on equipment including motors, gearboxes, conveyors, pumps, and control systems. Complete statutory checks as required. Work safely and comply with all Health and Safety guidance and procedures. Maple Lodge - Rickmansworth - WD3 9SQ What you should bring to the role Time-served apprentice with significant experience in electrical systems in a “true multi-skilled” capacity. Previous experience in an electrical apprenticeship, ONC/HNC in engineering, NVQ or C&G level 3 in mechanical engineering. Experience in maintaining, testing, installing and fault diagnosis on electrical plant equipment. Knowledge of health and safety issues. Ability to work in confined spaces with appropriate training. Potential earnings increase of up to £8,000-£10,000 per annum upon completion of company training. 24 days holiday per year increasing to 28 days with length of service.
