Aerospace EWIS Design Engineer
Contract Type: 3-Month Contract (Outside IR35) Potential for Renewal Project Overview: This position is part of a critical defence project requiring candidates to contribute to the design and development of Electrical Wiring Interconnection Systems (EWIS). Due to the sensitive nature of the work, British Citizenship is essential. Key Responsibilities: Design and development of Electrical Wiring Interconnection Systems (EWIS) using SolidWorks. Create and update detailed schematics, harnesses, and wiring diagrams to meet defence industry standards. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure system integration and compliance with project requirements. Generate technical documentation and support reviews to meet project deadlines. Required Skills and Experience: Proficiency in SolidWorks with demonstrable experience in EWIS design. Strong understanding of EWIS standards and best practices within the aerospace or defence sectors. Experience with defence projects or similar classified work. Exceptional attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality technical drawings and documentation. Contract Details: Location: Derby (3 days on-site per week for the first month, with flexibility thereafter). Start Date: February 2024 (ASAP availability preferred). Rates: Open for discussion based on experience and expertise. Candidate Requirements: British Citizenship is mandatory due to the nature of the defence project. Immediate availability or ability to start in early February 2024.
