To be responsible alongside the Lead Consultants for Audit for coordinating and overseeing all clinical audits undertaken within the Maternity, Obstetrics and Gynaecology services, working with relevant multi-professional leads to ensure agreed deadlines are met. To conduct audits and develop and monitor action plans to ensure recommendations/actions are embedded into clinical practice and that assurance is provided to the Specialty and Care Group Leads. We operate from three main hospitals - Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community healthcare premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre. FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services. WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses. All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, day case and inpatient surgery. To lead and co-ordinate the benchmarking of all regional and national audits. Ensuring action plans are SMART and monitor the progress of the action plans until actions have been completed. Present all regional and national audit reports and action plans to the Womens Health Quality Board. To provide results of all clinical audit, as required for the purposes of business planning, responses to national guidelines, responses to information requests from outside agencies such as the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
