We are seeking a fun, kind, and caring Early Years Assistant with a genuine passion for Early Years to join our sister day nursery, opening January 2025. As an Early Years Assistant your main duties and responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to: Developing and maintaining professional relationships with parents and carers Supporting children with their individual personal hygiene needs Providing effective and regular feedback to parents on their child’s day, personal development and any other relevant information Ensuring a bright and stimulating attractive room with colourful appropriate activities and displays showing children’s work Assisting with care, maintenance and security of all equipment and toys within the nursery Supervising children at all times indoors and outdoors including mealtimes and snack breaks If you are looking for a challenging and rewarding career in childcare in a brand new setting or even a complete career change, then this is the perfect opportunity for you. Designated Safeguarding Lead We have named persons within the nursery who take lead responsibility for safeguarding and coordinate child protection and welfare issues, known as

the Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSL) . There is always at least one designated person on duty during the opening hours of the setting. All applicants should be aware that a huge part of the role is ensuring children are continuously safeguarded from any harm. Any job offers will be subject to an enhanced DBS check, thorough referencing, an induction programme, and a 3 months’ probation period. All successful candidates will be given lots of training upon starting their role. The amendments to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (2013 and 2020) provides that when applying for certain jobs and activities, certain convictions and cautions are considered ‘protected’. This means that they do not need to be disclosed to employers, and if they are disclosed, employers cannot take them into account.
