Test Automation Engineer 6-month Initial contract Hybrid – Sheffield Vanloq’s leading banking client is seeking a testing subject matter expert with automation experience to play a pivotal role improving the testing maturity of the platform. This role focuses on establishing robust testing practices across applications, APIs, and other automations while mentoring teams on adopting and integrating automated testing in CI/CD pipelines. Key Responsibilities: Good knowledge and understanding of application architecture. Excellent understanding of Methodology (Agile, Waterfall). Experience in preparing Test Case/Test Plan. Able to communicate technical issues or requirements clearly and effectively. Exposure to API Testing [Specialized in testing and validating XML, XSD, XPath Syntax, Web Services, MQ, Topics, REST, HTTP, SOAP Messaging]. Experience in UI and API/Rest assured Automation. Hands-on experience on REST ASSURED/JUnit framework for API testing. Experience with GIT – GIT Commands, etc. Hands-on experience on GIT, JIRA, Jenkins. Good understanding of REST API types (GET, PUT, POST, DELETE) and its working. Good understanding of HTTP, JSON protocol and syntax. Good understanding of Message Schema, RAML, Message Request-Response mechanism. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
