We are recruiting a trainee patent attorney for our electronics, engineering and physics group. The successful candidate will ideally have an electronic engineering degree, although graduates in related disciplines will also be considered. The ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both in speech and in writing, is of the utmost importance. We are looking for candidates with a good eye for detail, and a general interest in the advancement of technology. The position will involve working directly with a partner on a varied patent-related workload, including: Drafting new patent applications Corresponding with clients and official patent offices Providing freedom to operate advice to clients moving into new technical areas A varied program of training will be provided, including internal seminars and tutorials, as well as external courses. We have a proven track record of candidates being successful in the UK and European professional examinations at their first attempt, which follows from recruiting only the best candidates. We can also demonstrate that we can offer rapid career advancement to partnership for the right candidates. Our client base is dominated by large, high-profile multinational corporations. Our core focus is to deliver a high quality product, by requiring a high standard of technical competence from our attorneys, as well as meeting and exceeding service-level client expectations. The position will be based in our Sevenoaks office, which is located about 20 miles south east of London. Working in Sevenoaks provides very convenient access to London, while at the same time offering close proximity to the Kent and Sussex countryside.
