Farm Manager
Due to business restructuring, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated working farm manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day management of Southwick Farms’ 250 suckler cows, 1200 breeding ewes, and 200-acre arable enterprise.
Ideally, the successful candidate should have:
Experience and a good knowledge of beef and sheep husbandry and enjoy working with livestock.
Some knowledge of arable cropping including winter barley and spring barley.
Hands-on experience of farm machinery operation and maintenance.
Strong problem-solving skills and negotiating abilities.
The skills to manage, guide, and motivate the farm team.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
An excellent remuneration package is offered and includes a vehicle. Southwick is located near New Abbey, Dumfries, and a recently fully renovated house is available if required.
