Extensive post graduate experience working in the clinical area of acute dysphagia and Head and Neck Cancer is required, as well as evidence of knowledge/experience with instrumental swallowing assessments – FEES and Videofluoroscopy. Also required is evidence of highly specialist knowledge in management/rehabilitation of swallowing disorders in acute and Head & Neck Cancer patients underpinned by current evidence based practice. Knowledge of interventions used in Critical Care including experience of working with patients who have undergone ventilation/tracheostomy is desired. A BSc, or equivalent, in Speech Pathology and Therapeutics, is essential, along with Postgraduate qualifications in management of swallowing disorders e.g. MSc CATS rated course, RCSLT accredited course and registration with the Health and Care Professions Council.
