Rotating Equipment Technician

to join our Engineering Assurance/Maintenance Department. The successful candidate will support routine and specialised maintenance across the refinery, ensuring all tasks are performed safely, efficiently, to improve reliability in line with budgetary, environmental, and operational standards, while meeting statutory obligations. Working will include API pumps, turbines, compressors, and similar machinery. Key Activities:

Complete delivery of rotating equipment repair working as part of a contractor or internal team. Perform general mechanical tasks such as blinding, bolting overhauls and simple rigging. Develop work methods, produce RAMS and work permits for assigned work. Participate in major equipment overhauls, shutdowns, T&Is, either as a leader or team member. Witness function checks like balancing, alignments, and overspeed tests. Witness and assist in system/equipment recommissioning after maintenance. Support the identification and selection of spare parts. Carry out first line fault diagnosis for API pumps and reciprocating compressors. Work with OEMs and third parties to define repairs and support execution of the repairs. Assist original equipment manufacturers (OEM) or third-party contractors during on-site operations. Contribute to the close-out process for work orders, ensuring appropriate history is properly recorded along with all internal QA documentation. Review and approve/challenge third party repair documentation. Mentor mechanical apprentices, guiding them in practical maintenance skills and knowledge. Qualifications / Attributes / Experience Required:

Recognised Technical Apprenticeship. National Vocational Qualifications in a relevant mechanical discipline. Experience overhauling and commissioning API pumps. Practical experience overhauling and commissioning reciprocating compressors (Desirable). Practical experience overhauling and commissioning turbomachinery (steam turbine, compressor and generators) (Desirable). Experience of balancing and laser alignment (Desirable). Experience developing work scopes and job planning for machinery overhaul (Desirable). Experience working on a top tier COMAH site (Desirable). Qualification (Cat 1) in vibration and condition monitoring techniques (Desirable). Experience of SAP PM module. Applicants must have a strong background of 5+ years in Rotating equipment experience, preferably within a large refining/petrochemical or other COMAH environment.
