The Vacancy Rights Manager, Academic & Professional The opportunity We are looking for a Rights Manager to join our thriving Rights team at Bloomsbury to sell translation and digital licences to the Bloomsbury Academic & Professional and selected Special Interest imprints. This would suit a Rights Manager or a Rights Executive who has good experience of selling and is looking for a new challenge. Three-time winner of the Bookseller Academic, Educational & Professional Publisher of the Year Award, Bloomsbury’s Academic & Professional Division publishes approximately 3,000 new titles a year. Established in 2008, the division has grown organically and through acquisition and publishes across the humanities and social sciences, from higher education through to professional practice. The successful candidate will play an important role in this division, in the rights team and in the company. The role reports to the Head of Rights, Academic. The Role Sell translation and digital rights to an agreed strategy (translation territories will depend on the successful candidate). Initiate and develop business relationships with new and existing customers to retain and grow business. Contribute to acquisition and P&L performance. Draw up contracts and liaise with finance over invoicing. Attend book fairs and sales trips as required. Skills, Knowledge and Experience Rights and digital licensing experience working in a similar role. Confidence in communicating and negotiating. Team player. Excellent organisational skills. Proficient in Word, Excel, and databases (Biblio preferred). Additional Information The role is a full-time permanent position.
