Autism West Midlands

Autism West Midlands is a leading charity in the West Midlands for people on the autism spectrum. We use our expertise to enrich the lives of autistic people and those who love and care for them. Our passionate, expert staff and volunteers work across all age groups and abilities by providing personalised support. Job Overview

Autism West Midlands is looking to recruit two Autism Specialist Advisors (Adults) for a 12-month fixed-term contract working in Birmingham, Solihull, and The Black Country. One post is 37 hours per week, and the second post is 22 hours per week, based in Birmingham with some home working. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with an understanding of autism and experience supporting individuals to join the leading Autism Charity in the region and make a difference to the lives of autistic people and their families. Responsibilities

We are looking for someone who can assist us in delivering a range of services and groups based in Birmingham and The Black Country. Support is offered in different ways, including through individual support sessions as well as within a group setting. Experience in providing advice, information, and support is essential, along with a willingness to share and present useful information to groups of autistic adults. An understanding of how autism strategies can be used in a person-centered way will also be an advantage. The majority of delivery will be in person, but there will also be occasions where we offer support online via Microsoft Teams. For this reason, the successful candidate must be able to travel to deliver community-based activities across the area. Requirements

The successful candidate will have an office base at our Head Office in Selly Oak, although home working will be part of this role. A car owner is essential. The post holder will need flexibility to work as part of a small team, including working normal office hours and regular evenings. This post is offered as a 12-month fixed-term contract due to funding constraints, but with the possibility of extension. Application Process
