We are looking for an individual with sound clinical knowledge and experience of assessing adults and children. The individual should come from an acute setting/background and possess excellent assessment skills demonstrating a logical decision-making process that ensures patient safety and quality, along with strong leadership qualities and previous experience of managing people and teams autonomously.

To practice as a Senior Clinical Assessor within his/her own sphere of competence and agreed acceptable limits of practice (such agreement of scope to be regularly reviewed and signed off by the clinical Nurse lead/Matron). Responsibilities include assessing adults & children, providing a safe triage assessment, giving the most up-to-date clinical advice, and referring to the most appropriate team/service for the individual.

Responsibilities also include the assessment of care needs, the development, implementation, and evaluation of programmes of care without supervision, and teaching other nursing and non-nursing staff the core skills of adult and children’s assessment of illness & injury. The role may require taking charge of the clinical area and demonstrating to more junior nursing staff how this might be done efficiently.
