Senior Commercial Officer Location:
Cumbria, UK (office-based a couple of days per week with hybrid working flexibility) About the Role: We are looking for a skilled and motivated Senior Commercial Officer to join a leading defence and engineering organisation. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in managing complex commercial activities, ensuring successful contract delivery, and driving strategic growth. Based in Cumbria, you’ll enjoy a mix of office-based and remote working, giving you flexibility and the chance to work on high-impact programmes. Key Responsibilities: Contract Management:
Support the negotiation, drafting, and management of complex contracts and agreements. Commercial Support:
Provide guidance to internal teams on contractual terms, risk management, and compliance. Customer Relations:
Build and maintain strong relationships with external customers and internal stakeholders. Proposal Development:
Contribute to the preparation and review of bids and proposals. Performance Monitoring:
Oversee contractual performance, ensuring all obligations are met and opportunities for improvements are identified. Problem Solving:
Address and resolve contractual issues efficiently while protecting business interests. What We’re Looking For: Strong background in contract management or commercial roles, ideally within the defence, aerospace, or engineering sectors. Excellent negotiation and communication skills. Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of defence contracting processes (desirable but not essential).
