Faststream is working with a dynamic and rapidly expanding shipping company based in London.
We are currently seeking a Technical Superintendent to join their team and oversee the technical management of a fleet of Container carriers.
Responsibilities:
Ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of our Container carriers.
Plan and coordinate vessel maintenance, repairs, and dry-dockings.
Manage vessel budgets and control maintenance expenses.
Ensure that all vessels comply with class and statutory requirements.
Work closely with vessel crews and ensure that all safety, environmental, and quality procedures are followed.
Develop and implement maintenance strategies to optimize vessel performance.
Conduct regular vessel inspections and audits to identify potential problems and areas for improvement.
Monitor vessel performance and provide technical support to vessel crews as required.
Qualifications:
Sailed to the rank of 2nd or Chief Engineer.
At least 5 years of experience in a technical superintendent or similar role within the shipping industry, with a focus on Container carriers.
Strong knowledge of vessel operations, maintenance, and repair.
Familiarity with relevant regulations, including class and statutory requirements.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficient in MS Office and other relevant software.
