Management of the site and all related activities to ensure high Health & Safety standards, compliance with the Environmental Permit while maximising the utilisation of staff to drive the productivity and profitability of the sites. Management and delivery of P&L and capex budgets. Main Duties P&L responsibility Ensure effective and appropriate management structure in place to ensure safe, compliant and effective operations are maintained. Maintain site specific training matrices, covering all areas of operations which is maintained, developed and improved alongside the standard group management system. Ensure all operational staff receive appropriate training, in line with group management system and training is periodically reviewed (annually), with any improvements documented and captured within the group management system. Proactively track, develop and manage key reporting measures across the facilities in relation to group reporting requirements such as accident, incident, safe act and near miss reporting. Ensure site communication is established, effective and managed in support of the operational and commercial activity of the business unit. Maintain KPIs appropriate to measure and monitor the site's performance in regard to H&S, compliance and profit, working alongside other business stakeholders where necessary. Ensure the site maintenance system is maintained, reviewed and appropriate and that all equipment used within the facility is maintained in an appropriate condition for use, and has statutory checks in place and in date as necessary. Develop and mentor key leaders within the site (Managers, Team Leaders, Supervisors), including the use of and construction of personal development plans. Ensure Supervisors have conducted all pre-use checks for fixed and mobile plant, including and not limited to Drum Crusher, Shredder, FLT and Baler. Ensure site inspections including Fire Marshall Checks, Emergency lighting Checks, Daily Walkarounds and other Weekly and Monthly inspections are completed. Ensure Contractors working on site are appropriately inducted and operate under a permit to work system. Summary of Capabilities/Competencies: Currently operating in Waste Management or Total Waste Management business with experience in hazardous waste management and treatment. Evidence of commercial acumen and drive P&L experience. Operates to the highest professional and personal standards. Experience leading teams on a similar site. A deep understanding of the waste industry and local market. Significant sector experience. Qualifications Strong operational experience in Waste Management/WAMITAB CoTC Level 4: Hazardous waste treatment, hazardous waste transfer competence qualification (primary or continuing). IOSH Managing Safety. Management/Supervisory experience of teams on multiple sites. If you feel as though your experience is in line with the above, please apply.
