Job description

We've partnered with developer and publisher M10 to help them find a Marketing Lead to build their brand from the ground up.

As Marketing Lead you will bring an innovative, energetic, and strategic approach to building the brand for Project Fallen and M10, sparking viral trends, generating interest and building excitement around the game.

Over time you'll be responsible for building up the studio's marketing function, while shaping the brand and voice of M10 and Project Fallen as the game launches and grows. You'll enjoy a high degree of autonomy and ownership over your work and have the opportunity to develop your career quickly with opportunities to take on more responsibility within M10.

M10 is a publisher and developer who have a mission to create groundbreaking and competitive multiplayer experiences, building games that put player-driven economies at the forefront.

Their first title, Project Fallen, is a unique 1v1 competitive shooter where players rapidly swap between squads in third-person shooter mode. After playtesting with gamers, esports players, and influencers, the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, and the title could well redefine competitive gaming experiences.

The team at M10 includes top-tier industry veterans, including the former CEO of Trion Worlds, the Game Director of Assassin's Creed Black Flag, Origins, Rogue, and early team members from OlympusDAO plus senior staff from Ubisoft, Rockstar, and Epic Games.

Your responsibilities... Create and execute an internal marketing strategy Develop and nurture a "virality engine" to fuel the growth of M10 and Project Fallen Generate interest and market signals for Project Fallen and future titles Create passionate, early superfans who become lifelong advocates Content creation and experimentation Community building and engagement Market intelligence and trend analysis Influencer strategy and relationship building The skills and experience you'll bring to the role...

Experience of content creation surrounding games and you revel in experimenting Experience of building and engaging with a growing gaming community Previously conducted market intelligence and trend analysis in the games industry Delivered an influencer strategy for games and building relationships with influencers Success in driving marketing initiatives for games or IPs with measurable results A thorough understanding of gaming culture, trends, and community dynamics Ability to connect authentically with gaming audiences A knack for humour and memes with a voice that resonates with gamers

Full transparency, M10 have asked us to make clear why the role may not appeal to some: It's a startup studio environment, a fast-paced, early-stage environment, with limited resources and a need to adapt. There will be no formal marketing mentorship, you'll need to thrive independently and you can expect a lot of variety in your work and the need to pivot often. It's important to be clear that you'll be expected to deliver results quickly and effectively.
