The Role

We are looking for an

Academy Games Programme Scout

to join us on a casual basis and operate in the M4 Corridor area to identify players for our Academy with potential to develop in the Foundation Phase (9-11), EYDP (12-14) and LYDP (15-16) age groups. You'll diligently attend football matches and record the necessary information on potential players in our Academy's online club database and you'll passionately attend weekly meetings led by Phase Coordinators to feedback your insight and findings. Your day-to-day

Operate as a key member of our Academy talent ID network

- you'll proactively identify and report on the most talented young players with the potential to join our Academy. Develop and maintain knowledge of our players

- you will passionately report on players monitored on our database and build and cultivate your knowledge of players in the selected phase at our club and beyond. Act as a proud ambassador for our club

- you'll take pride in protecting our image and upholding our reputation in the public domain and work within the PL/EFL Youth Development rules. Attend relevant events

- you will attend CPD events relevant to Talent ID held at our Academy. Stay available to attend matches

- you'll ensure you're flexible and available to attend PL/EFL Academy matches selected by our Phase Coordinator. Abide by critical policies

- you will keep important policies related to Safeguarding, Equality and Health and Safety front of mind at all times. What we are looking for

Credible expertise

- you hold an FA Talent ID Level 2 and an FA Safeguarding Certificate. Background in Academy football

- you come with experience and a comprehensive understanding of Academy football and its nuances and challenges. Empathetic and supportive approach

- you're naturally sensitive to the needs of young players, parents/guardians and grassroots clubs. Competent IT skills

- you're confident writing detailed reports and keeping databases up to date. Valid driving licence

- you are able to get yourself to fixtures, events and meetings with ease. Collaborative team player

- you're a personable and enthusiastic individual with a competitive work ethic and you work efficiently as part of a team. Flexible mindset

- you have a willingness to work weekends and in the evening.
