Mechanical Design Engineer Department: Engineering Department Location: Oxford, UK (hybrid) The Business Oxford Flow was founded in 2015 as a spin-out from The University of Oxford and produces some of the most precise and accurate flow control valves in the world. We are an engineering led technology company which has revolutionized valve design with our range of Zero emissions control valves and regulators; these products will transform global fugitive emissions in industries such as oil & gas, gas transmission & distribution, and other process industries. The addressable market for Oxford Flow’s innovative technology is a £5bn sector of the global £70bn valve and actuator market. The company has recently secured £20m investment from two major strategic organisations to accelerate its growth plans and we are seeking talented individuals to be part of the exciting journey to follow. The Role The Mechanical Design Engineer will join a talented innovative research and development team developing flow control products, primarily pressure and control valves. The role will report to a Principal Engineer / Senior Mechanical Engineer and assist in a sub team developing and growing our ES valve range, as well as helping across the engineering department on other product developments. We are an output-oriented company striving for excellence, making real products within the oil and gas, energy, and water sectors with new ideas. Responsibilities Create product models and drawings in a CAD package (SolidWorks), including a detailed understanding of geometrical product specification (GPS) tolerancing to BS8888:2020, dimensioning and stress analysis (finite element and hand calculation). Write and review technical documents to support products, from build procedures, operation and maintenance manuals and technical files / design reports. Create parts, assemblies, bills of materials within our PDM system. Undertake experimental and validation testing where required with our products. Developing and improving manufacturing and assembly processes / procedures for both new and existing products. To work with other departments within the business to ensure products transition to use customers efficiently. Required Skills and Experience A degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering. An advanced modern apprenticeship to a minimum of HNC level with multiple year industry experience will be considered. Experience in a similar or related role Candidates should have demonstrable expertise in

some
