We are seeking a skilled and reliable Pipelayer (Drainage) to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing and maintaining drainage systems, ensuring proper alignment, and ensuring the effective removal of surface or groundwater. You will work on both residential and commercial drainage projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and quality specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

Drainage Installation:

Excavate trenches and lay drainage pipes according to project plans and specifications. Ensure proper alignment and gradient of pipes for efficient water flow. Install and connect drainage systems such as French drains, stormwater drains, and sewer lines. Apply trenchless technology where required for minimal disruption.

Maintenance & Repair:

Assist with maintenance and repair of existing drainage systems, including pipe replacements and clearing blockages. Ensure all work meets safety, quality, and environmental standards.

Site Preparation:

Prepare work sites by digging trenches and removing debris. Install necessary supports for pipes, ensuring they are stable and secure.

Compliance & Safety:

Follow safety regulations and company policies during all phases of the installation process. Operate equipment such as trenchers, excavators, and pipe layers in a safe and efficient manner. Ensure compliance with local building codes and drainage regulations.

Quality Assurance:

Conduct checks for pipe alignment, integrity, and proper drainage functionality. Report any issues or concerns to supervisors for immediate resolution.

Collaboration & Communication:

Work closely with other members of the construction team, including supervisors, engineers, and other laborers. Communicate effectively to ensure that work progresses smoothly and to plan.

Qualifications & Skills:

Proven experience in drainage pipe installation, preferably in a construction or civil engineering environment. Knowledge of various types of drainage systems and pipes (e.g., PVC, concrete, clay). Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and project plans. Proficiency in using tools and machinery such as trenchers, excavators, and pipe cutters. Good physical fitness and stamina to perform manual labor in varying weather conditions. Strong focus on safety and ability to work in compliance with safety regulations. Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues on-site. CSCS card.
