No. 2 Mechanic

No. 2 Mechanic , you will be involved in the preparation, build, and disassembly of race cars to Williams’ standards. You will be responsible for the cars and components and the stringent design and specification requirements. As a
No. 2 Mechanic
for our Academy Team, your key responsibilities will be: Assemble and disassemble race cars and components as required, ensuring they are built to the agreed standards and that any discrepancies have been highlighted and agreed. Ensure each car is built to the technical specifications and deadlines required. Ensure that all assemblies are built following the build procedure and that build checklists are completed and visible for inspection. Where any issues or faults are identified, these should be discussed with your No. 1 Mechanic. Ensure all faults/problems encountered are accurately reported and followed up as appropriate. Proactively support others within your Crew to complete tasks where required. Ensure your No.1 is regularly briefed, fostering a spirit of two-way communication, and continuously seek ways to improve team and personal performance. Foster a positive relationship with factory operations, driving a spirit of teamwork and continuous improvement. Attend factory and test events as required. We are looking for a
No. 2 Mechanic
with the following experience and skills: Previous motorsport experience as a Mechanic is essential and ideally gained within an F1, WEC or GP2 environment. An enthusiastic self-starter, with an ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Self-sufficient, able to independently take responsibility for completing tasks and objectives. A team player who is comfortable working with internal and external entities. Able to adopt a flexible approach to working hours during events and peak times. Demonstrate excellent communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively across departments. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, Excel & Word. Impeccable attention to detail with the ability to handle multiple projects at the same time. Willingness to travel to events internationally. *In compliance with national Secure Freight Consigner conditions, five years’ continuous employment, education and/or training must be evidenced and any gaps exceeding 28 days accounted for. A criminal record check will also be carried out. This will be explained in more detail during the interview. What can Williams offer?
