Working Hours: Monday to Friday - 7:30am to 4.00pm, with an unpaid lunch break of half an hour. Overtime available when required.

Salary: £Competitive depending on experience

Within the Falcon Group is Falcon Tower Crane Services, the largest tower crane supplier in the UK and one of the largest in the world with just under 450 tower cranes nationwide. Due to the continued expansion within the Group, we are seeking to recruit an experienced Tower Crane Electrician to join our team.

Full training alongside engineers with various skill sets will be given until duties can be performed independently.

Job Summary:

Working collaboratively at the Shipdham Depot, you will be responsible for carrying out full services on our fleet of tower cranes, completing repairs and modifications according to the manufacturer's specifications, and preparing tower cranes ready to be loaded to sites. You will also assist with the servicing and maintenance of all tower cranes at the Shipdham Depot and work in accordance with the tower crane build sheet.

Responsibilities - Depot Tower Crane Electrician:

Follow manufacturers' instructions and comply with the relevant electrical diagrams. Ensure all work carried out complies with the current electrical safety standards. Carry out a full electrical test and record all test results on the Electricians Checklist on the Falcon App. Work according to the manufacturer's manual. Ensure all electrical components are safe before energising. Follow the safe isolation procedure. Ensure all crane safety limitation devices work according to the manufacturer's recommendations and specifications. Provide the correct length of mains cable specified on the tower crane's Build Sheet. Ensure that clear communications are maintained at all times during testing and or when components are live. Ensure lifting operations are carried out as detailed within the Lift Plan. Ensure the safe operation of Plant Machinery and Tower Cranes. Carry out pre-use checks in accordance with the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER). Maintain a high level of housekeeping throughout the Depot. Ensure all components are clean and serviceable. Ensure records of all work carried out are in an organised and legible manner.

Qualifications/Knowledge/Experience - Depot Tower Crane Electrician:

Essential: Inspection and Testing of Electrical Installations. Level 2 Diploma in Electrical Installations. NVQ Level 3 in either a Mechanical or Electrical background. Current Wiring regulations, for example, Level 3 Award in the Requirements for Electrical Installations BS 7671 (18th edition). Fault finding experience.

Preferred: A40C - Pedestrian Operated Tower Crane. A40B - Slinger. Forklift Driver. Working at Height. Manual Handling. Abrasive Wheels.

Skills/Abilities/Competencies - Depot Tower Crane Electrician: Confidently read and understand electrical diagrams. Competence with 3 Phase electrical supplies. Competence with low voltage AC and DC control circuits. Capable of following manufacturers' guidelines and safe systems of work. Fully conversant with, and able to navigate tower crane manufacturer's handbooks. Promote and display a positive Safety Culture. The ability to communicate clearly and effectively. Able to establish weights, balance loads and judge distances, heights and clearances. Capable of selecting lifting accessories and equipment that are suitable for the load to be lifted. The ability to work well as an individual and in a team along with coordinating effective lines of communication among the team (and if required, with adjacent cranes, plant or equipment). Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. The ability to work under pressure. Problem Solver. The ability to perform the job responsibilities safely and effectively, without endangering your own health or the health of others.
