About the role: LKAB Minerals UK are looking for an experienced electrical technician to support the plant to realise its full potential in terms of safety, quality, increasing uptime, reducing breakdowns, as well as providing operational efficiency, innovation, and continuous improvement. Day to day would involve working alongside the Plant Manager and Assistant Plant Manager to identify priorities, fault find and use predictive maintenance methods to ensure maximum plant operation. You will support both planned and reactive electrical maintenance work throughout the plant, across a variety of machinery and equipment of varying ages and processes, ensuring accurate logs and records are maintained. Responsibilities & Key work tasks: Carry out a full range of engineering and maintenance duties for the entire site, diagnosing and resolving faults. Use of CMMS system to record maintenance and breakdown activities. Proactive in maintaining, developing, and implementing site improvement processes and carrying out both preventative and breakdown maintenance of all fixed plant. Executing work to specific Health and Safety, Company, and Industry Standards and Regulations. Support local contractor management processes ensuring they are following Health and Safety Standards. Ensure the plant is run in a safe and stable manner ensuring continuity of the process and equipment, whilst using best practices for energy efficiencies. Operate and adjust the process to give the specified product quality level and quantity in accordance with the Quality System Requirements. Carry out all in-process testing and at the frequency specified and accurately report, record, and communicate all information relevant to the activities carried out during your shift. Fully deputise for the Shift Team Leader as per business requirements. To ensure that the Plant and control room cleanliness is kept to the required standard. Any other duties relevant to the task. Candidate requirements: Time served Electrical apprentice. BTEC National/NVQ or equivalent. 18th Edition Wiring Regulations. 2391 Inspection and Testing (desirable). IOSH preferred but not essential. Experience of safely maintaining medium to heavy plant (Preferably screening, crushing, milling, dust extractions, mixers, conveyors) with basic understanding of pneumatics and hydraulics. IT Skills particularly Microsoft Office suite. Experience in using a CMMS system to record maintenance activities. Characteristic requirements: Shows a positive attitude to safety and never walks past an unsafe condition. Committed to LKAB behaviours, code of conduct and lives by the organisation's golden rules.
