Benefits 25 days holiday plus bank holidays Sick pay Company Pension Scheme Professional development opportunities Friendly and collaborative work environment Job Responsibilities of a Quality Manager Develop, implement, and maintain a robust Quality Management System (QMS) aligned with ISO 9001 and company objectives. Manage the welding management system in compliance with BS EN ISO 1090 / 3834. Address customer feedback to ensure products meet or exceed expectations, driving a customer-focused approach. Collaborate with departments like production and engineering to resolve quality issues and enhance processes. Oversee quality assurance activities, including inspections, testing, and documentation, ensuring adherence to standards. Ensure compliance with industry regulations and certifications (e.g., ISO, FDA, CE) and manage audit preparation. Lead continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) to optimise processes and enhance product quality. Conduct audits and inspections, identify areas for improvement, and coordinate third-party audits as needed. Mentor and manage the quality team, fostering a culture of quality and alignment with organisational goals. Lead root cause analysis (RCA), oversee corrective actions (CAPA), and track their effectiveness. Monitor customer feedback and product performance, addressing complaints to ensure satisfaction. Analyse quality metrics, prepare reports, and recommend corrective actions to senior management. Collaborate with suppliers to ensure incoming material quality and resolve supplier-related issues. Identify and implement process improvements to reduce errors and enhance product quality. Oversee quality assurance across the product lifecycle, from design to post-production. Liaise with the HSE team to maintain Health, Safety, and Environmental standards (ISO 45001 & 14001). Personal Specification of a Quality Manager Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field. 5-7 years of quality management experience, including 3+ years in leadership within manufacturing or engineering. Expertise in industry standards (e.g., ISO 9001) and quality tools like RCA, FMEA, SPC, Six Sigma, and Lean. Proven experience in audits and regulatory compliance. Strong leadership and team mentoring skills. Proficient in data analysis and quality management software (e.g., Minitab, SAP). Excellent communication skills across all levels of the organization. Certified Quality Manager (CQM) or equivalent (Desirable). Knowledge of specialized standards (e.g., IATF 16949, FDA) (Desirable). Familiarity with QMS, ERP, and project management tools (Desirable). Experience with ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and ISO 1090 / 3834 systems (Desirable).
