To assist and support the Manager in the following: Staff training and development Motivating and encouraging the team to attain sales targets Ensuring staff adhere to all Company instructions, policies, and procedures Ensuring the store is operated in accordance with Company budgets Planning and implementing any changes in promotional activity Administration, for example, investigating cash/stock discrepancies, payroll, and marketing These responsibilities are in addition to the following: Assisting in customer relations by maintaining excellent customer service at all times, including an up-to-date knowledge of store products on display Identifying selling opportunities and acting on these Assuming responsibility for housekeeping standards both inside and outside the store according to Company standards Ensuring that the premises are safe and secure at all times Complying with the Company regulations regarding cash handling and administration Complying with all health and safety information and ensuring compliance with all licensing and trading standards legislation Any other duties relevant and related to the post Qualifications
Maths and English GCSE (Grade C or above) or equivalent OR 1 year previous supervisory experience in a retail or customer-focused environment NVQ Level 2 & 3 in Customer Service or Retail Operations or equivalent WSET Level 1 Wine Certificate; Level 2 also preferred Must be committed to successfully completing WSET Level 2 Award in Wines and Spirits Skills and Experience
Minimum of 6 months experience in a retail environment Ability to solve problems and work on your own initiative as well as part of a team Demonstrated leadership qualities to lead a team in the absence of the Store Manager Ability to sustain consistent performance under pressure and willingness to take on extra responsibility when required Previous experience with an EPOS system and cash handling Previous experience with stock handling and control Effective communication skills with internal and external customers Customer-focused with a professional level of customer service Ability to actively sell to customers Personal drive and a pleasant, positive, and enthusiastic attitude Excellent standard of dress and appearance A valid driving license plus access to a car Previous experience in an off-licence environment Previous experience in a supervisory role Company Overview
