Biodynamic Market Garden and Social Enterprise Coordinator Salary: £27,524 – £29,912 starting salary subject to experience and qualifications 40 Hours per week, 52 weeks per year (A relocation allowance may be available for those needing to relocate for this role) We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to manage the day-to-day operations at High Riggs Gardens, supporting the ongoing biodynamics in consultation with our Biodynamic Land Manager. High Riggs is a 9-acre biodynamic market garden where students grow and harvest vegetables to use in our residential homes, cafe and college kitchen. In addition, a successful community veg box and wholesale veg box scheme is run out of High Riggs; students assist with harvesting and preparing the vegetables and ensuring the boxes are ready for collection and delivery. You will be responsible for: the delivery of education and management of social enterprise opportunities for Freeman College students in the production of biodynamic fruit and vegetables including planting, harvesting and preparing for retail engaging with the local community and local suppliers to ensure efficient production and delivery of our veg box scheme including responsibility for income and expenditure assisting our Biodynamic Land Manager in ensuring Demeter standards are applied reviewing along with our Biodynamic Land Manager, to strategically plan land development, production product distribution, ecological issues etc actively working with and providing training for tutors, catering staff, trainees and students co-ordinate events, open days and volunteers’ days in conjunction with appropriate staff To be considered for this role, you will: Ideally be trained and recognised as a Biodynamic Practitioner; if not, training will be provided Be experienced in growing using organic and biodynamic principles Be experienced in land management and growing crops for sale Have knowledge of specialist education and ideally working with learners with learning difficulties and/or learning disabilities Ideally hold a teaching qualification or be prepared to work towards it (a teaching qualification may include an increase to the advertised salary) Have excellent communication, organisational and resilience skills Be able to provide animal care on a rota basis at weekends Have a full driving licence with access to a vehicle Working at Freeman College is incredibly rewarding and in return, we offer competitive salaries and an auto-enrolment pension scheme.
