We are seeking a skilled Race Engineer who can ensure the seamless, efficient operation of one of Kiro Race Co’s Formula E cars across all test and race events. Following a recent change in ownership, a dynamic rebrand and a new partnership with Cupra, Kiro Race Co is making moves as it transitions from a manufacturer programme to a customer team harnessing a Porsche Powertrain. Position Overview Reporting to the Chief Race Engineer, you will play a critical role in managing all trackside technical aspects, with a focus on well-orchestrated procedures, prioritising communication between supporting engineers and real-time data analysis to extract the best performance from the team, driver and car. Key Responsibilities At Race and Test Events: Oversee all aspects of one of the team’s cars, ensuring smooth, compliant, and high-performance operations. Promote effective communication and teamwork among mechanics, engineers, and the driver. Plan, manage, and execute efficient run plans to maximize learning and data collection. Make swift, informed decisions on car setup and optimization based on data analysis, pre-event sensitivities, and input from the team. Maintain detailed records of car setup, driver feedback, component changes and relevant notes to support operational continuity. Ensure vehicle compliance with all sporting and technical regulations, escalating faults to the appropriate departments. At the Factory: Contribute to defining future car requirements for long-term performance improvements. Provide input in performance review meetings, guiding supporting engineers on focus areas. Coordinate and run pre-event simulator sessions and assist in rig tests to enhance preparation. Participate in faults meetings to track, address, and resolve issues effectively. Perform detailed post-event analysis, delivering reports that guide future performance strategies. Develop, document, and apply best practices for safe, reliable, and competitive car operation. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, or a related field. 5+ years at the highest levels of motorsport (FE, F1, WEC, IndyCar) Strong understanding of data analytics, vehicle dynamics, and energy management in electric vehicles. Proven team leadership with a collaborative approach to working with drivers and technical teams. A passion for motorsport and innovation in sustainable racing technology.
