The Mechanical Fitter will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing mechanical systems on water utility sites. This role requires a skilled professional with experience working with pumps, valves, and pipework. The position involves travel across the Northwest, with daily starts from the yard in Northwich. Key Responsibilities:
Installation and Maintenance: Install, maintain, and repair mechanical systems, including pumps, valves, and pipework, ensuring optimal performance and compliance with industry standards. Fault Diagnosis: Perform fault-finding and troubleshooting on mechanical systems to identify and rectify issues promptly. Technical Drawings: Read and interpret technical drawings and schematics to ensure accurate and efficient work. Team Collaboration: Work closely with other team members to complete projects on time and to the highest quality standards. Safety Compliance: Adhere to health and safety regulations, ensuring a safe working environment for all team members. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of work performed, including reports on completed tasks and any issues encountered. Qualifications and Experience:
Time-Served Mechanical Fitter: Must have completed a recognized apprenticeship or possess an NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering. Relevant Experience: Extensive experience working on mechanical systems in a water utility or similar environment. Technical Skills: Proficient in working with pumps, valves, and piping systems. Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to work independently and manage time effectively. Safety Certifications: Possession of a valid CCNSG Safety Passport or CSCS Safety Passport is mandatory. Personal Attributes:
