Due to expansion, Sercon is currently seeking a Systems Engineer. At Sercon, we pride ourselves on working closely with our customers on innovative projects. The successful candidate will have the vision and confidence to develop strategy and future innovations by collaborating with customers, the engineering, and production team at Sercon to develop products in line with market needs. Based in Crewe, UK, with international travel to customer sites, the successful candidate will ideally have expertise in the installation or servicing of Mass Spectrometry Instrumentation. Candidates with extensive experience in operating IRMS will also be considered. Responsibilities

Responsibilities will include: Testing Sercon stable isotope mass spectrometers and their peripheral sample preparation modules in the factory to ensure they meet the required specifications. Traveling to customer sites, often overseas, to carry out the installation, service, or repair of Sercon systems. Training customers to a satisfactory level. Providing post-installation customer support via telephone calls or emails. Complying with ISO 9001 requirements. Contributing to the continued development and improvement of existing hardware and techniques. Responsible use of stock and company credit card. Qualifications

You should have or be: An academic qualification in an appropriate scientific or engineering discipline, e.g., Chemistry, Geology, Electrical Engineering. Strong time management skills with the ability to work unsupervised. Excellent communication skills. Experience in a field service role or similar, with experience of on-site installation, upgrades, preventive maintenance, and system repairs desirable. Analytical troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
