Our client, based in Darlington, is seeking a skilled and motivated On-the-Road Fitter Technician to join their team. This role involves the installation of curtains, blinds, pelmets, and upholstered furniture, as well as taking accurate measurements of window openings for future projects.

The work will primarily be in the private care home sector across the UK, delivering high-quality fitout services to ensure client satisfaction.

Frequent travel and overnight stays are a key part of this role, as you will be covering multiple locations and responding to client needs; therefore, a full clean driving licence is essential.

Key Responsibilities: Installation:

Fit and install curtains, blinds, pelmets, and upholstered furniture to a high standard in care homes and other residential settings.

Measurements:

Accurately measure window openings and spaces for curtains and blinds, ensuring precision for future installations.

Upholstery:

Assist with the delivery and installation of upholstered furniture, ensuring secure and professional fitouts.

Travel:

Travel to various locations across the UK, with frequent overnight stays required due to job locations.

Customer Service:

Represent the company professionally, maintaining clear communication with clients and care home managers, ensuring their needs are met.

Problem-Solving:

Troubleshoot any on-site issues that arise during installation and provide quick and effective solutions.

Health & Safety:

Ensure that all work is carried out in compliance with company safety policies and UK health and safety regulations.

Skills and Experience Required: Experience in installing curtains, blinds, pelmets, and upholstered furniture, preferably in the care home or residential sector.

Competence in measuring for window coverings, with a strong attention to detail.

Ability to work independently and manage time effectively while on the road.

Strong practical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication and customer service skills, with a professional attitude.

Full UK driving licence is essential.

Willingness to travel extensively across the UK with frequent overnight stays.
