Purpose of the Quality Manager Role:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Quality Manager to join our client's team. The successful candidate will oversee and manage all quality assurance and compliance functions within the company, ensuring adherence to ISO 9001:2008 standards and product approvals. This role is crucial in maintaining product quality and safety, while continuously improving processes in line with customer and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities for a Quality Manager:

Lead ISO Certification processes and maintain Quality Management Systems (QMS). Collaborate with customers and suppliers on quality issues, material defects, and non-conformances. Oversee goods-in, work-in-progress, and finished product inspections. Conduct supplier evaluations and annual appraisals. Manage equipment calibration schedules and maintain all related documentation. Prepare and submit applications for new certifications such as ISO 14001 and maintain existing ones like Ecovadis. Conduct regular H&S audits, risk assessments, and ensure compliance with legislative updates. Authorise permits to work and oversee contractor safety standards. Liaise with local and government H&S departments to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements. Develop and implement H&S policies, training programs, and corrective action plans. Provide detailed reports to the board on quality metrics, supplier evaluations, and health and safety compliance. Analyse data from internal and external audits to drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements for a Quality Manager:

Proven experience in quality management, ideally within manufacturing or a related industry. NEBOSH preferred but not required. Strong knowledge of ISO 9001:2008 standards and auditing processes. Experience with technical product testing and calibration, particularly in electrical or cable products. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with customers, regulatory bodies, and internal teams. Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards in quality control and health and safety.
