GBP45k - GBP55k + benefits Location:

Colchester, Essex Our client has been established for more than half a century and is a market leader in the manufacture of bespoke products for an array of furniture applications. As a result of continued success and an ongoing program of strategic growth for 2025 and beyond, they are now seeking to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic Quality Manager to complement their professional manufacturing team. Reporting to the General Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining and improving the Company's Quality Management System (QMS). Your role will involve supporting all departments in developing robust quality assurance policies and procedures, as well as obtaining information from customers to drive continuous improvement in product quality. As Quality Manager, you will have unrestricted access to the Senior Management Team and will be responsible for the implementation and maintenance of the QMS. You will champion and develop systems following the "right first time" and "on time in full" principles and will quantify the cost of poor quality, formulating strategies to reduce costs to the business. You will be accountable for reducing both external complaints and internal rework, leading the application of quality requirements throughout the production process and verifying preventative actions. You will act as the internal lead for all in-house and customer-related quality requirements. Your responsibilities will also include being the primary contact for all internal and external audits, managing non-conformances, RCA, and corrective and preventive actions to closure following an 8D methodology. Other duties will involve leading internal investigations and inspections to support the production process, producing monthly and annual KPI reports, controlling quarantine stock, and ensuring compliance with all H&S and applicable legislation. To be considered for this varied and challenging Quality Manager opportunity within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, you should demonstrate at least 5 years' experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment in a quality management role. Qualifications should include Root Cause Analysis training, ISO 9001 Lead Auditor Training, and Failure Modes, Effects, and Criticality Analysis (FMECA). Excellent communication and influencing skills at all levels are essential, along with the ability to interpret technical engineering drawings. You should be analytical and creative, with comprehensive knowledge of quality systems, tools, and Lean methodologies, and an understanding of environmental 14001 is distinctly advantageous. Other duties will include ensuring compliance with workplace policies and procedures across the business, actively participating in workplace H&S management, identifying and reporting risks, and ensuring the correct use of appropriate personal protective equipment at all times. Contact the Quality Team at Premier Technical Recruitment for further details.
