Full-Time, Permanent Overview: Kennametal is seeking a skilled and motivated Machine Operator to join our ceramic machine shop team in Newport. In this role, you will operate buzz saw machines and various CNC machines, ensuring production meets our high standards for precision and quality. Key Responsibilities: Operate Traditional & CNC Band saws in the ceramic machine shop. Perform routine setup, adjustments, and troubleshooting to ensure optimal machine performance. Maintain and monitor production quality, ensuring work aligns with technical specifications and quality standards. Carry out regular maintenance and cleaning of machinery to ensure a safe and efficient work environment. Collaborate with team members and supervisors to optimize workflow and meet production deadlines. Adhere to health and safety standards and company policies at all times. Taking control of stock and booking out materials Work Schedule: Monday to Thursday: 07:00 – 15:30 Friday: 07:00 – 12:30 Total weekly hours: 37.5 Salary & Benefits: Competitive benefits package, including holiday allowance, pension scheme, and opportunities for career development. Required Skills & Qualifications: Previous experience operating Band saw or CNC machines (experience in ceramics manufacturing is a plus). Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
