MTrec’s New Opportunity: MTrec Technical are proudly representing our prestigious precision engineering/manufacturing client, based in Northumberland, by recruiting a permanent Design Engineer to join their growing organisation. A successful candidate will be responsible for designing and developing innovative solutions to resolve customer requirements. Manage Projects and provide engineering support to customers and internal departments to develop innovative technical solutions to meet both customer and our clients’ expectations. If you are an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer, apply now for an immediate response. The Job You’ll Do: To act as principal point of contact for customers’ engineers. Responsible for the generation of thermal management solutions to customer’s requirements. Managing individual projects allocated. This will involve creating engineering designs using 3D modelling, 2D drawings. Raising PO Requests for materials, equipment and the subsequent responsibility for the prototype build and test. To liaise with Production/Manufacturing Engineering to ensure a smooth transition into manufacture and ensuring that any processes introduced meet Customer requirements. To work with and support the Sales Department function. To ensure that Customer related information is maintained and archived in accordance with Departmental procedures. To work with due regard to Health and Safety requirements. To ensure that 5S housekeeping targets are achieved in areas of control. To support the Engineering function when other Engineers are not available. About You: HND in Mechanical Engineering or a similar level of experience. Ideally you will have a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, but this is not essential. Knowledge of 3D CAD design for machined components or assemblies. 3-4 years engineering experience in a design, development and manufacturing environment. Familiar with the use of SolidWorks (or similar CAD software) to generate models and drawings.
