Experience / Background Required:
Time-served Apprenticeship & proven mechanical fitting/production experience in an engineering environment.
Able to read technical drawings.
High levels of attention to detail.
Positive approach to customer service.
Good workload management skills.
Strong interpersonal skills, including good spoken and written communication.
Adequate physical fitness, mobility, and dexterity for fitting and customer training.
The Role of Mechanical Fitter:
Prepare, fit, and repair component parts and equipment, including all aspects of metalwork, hand/power tools, and typical workshop equipment.
Maintain departmental tools, ensuring they are in good repair and receive regular maintenance.
Manage individually assigned workload, working with the departmental team leader to meet production targets.
Ownership of production quality checks before distribution or progression to another department.
React quickly to changing demands and re-prioritize workload as required based on production and sales information.
