RVN – 4 Day Week – Gateshead

An exciting opportunity for a Registered Veterinary Nurse at RCVS accredited 24hr small animal hospital in Gateshead! You will see a variety of cases surgical and medical, nurse consultations, and much more. If successful you will be involved in all aspects of nursing care including clinics and in-patient care before, during and after surgery. The rota involves working 38 hours per week over 4 days. The shift patterns are: 6.45am-4.45pm, 8.00am-6.30pm, 8.30am-6.30pm. Weekend work is 1 in 4 Saturdays or Sundays 6.45am-6.30pm. The salary is up to £29,000 along with excellent benefits and supportive working environment. The practice has digital radiography, dental radiography, flexible and rigid endoscopes, in-house lab including haematology, biochemistry, and EPOC machines, excellent ultrasound machine with doppler and a wide range of specialised equipment for performing most soft tissue, orthopaedic and endoscopy surgeries. Over all the branches they have 15 Veterinary Surgeons, 22 Registered Veterinary Nurses, 2 Student Veterinary Nurses, 13 Auxiliary Nurses and 11 Receptionists. They have Veterinary Surgeons who hold RCVS Advanced Practitioner in Small Animal Surgery and a number of Veterinary Surgeons who hold a GPCert(SAM). We are looking for an RVN who is highly motivated, works well in a team, and thrives in the varied environment of a veterinary hospital. Candidates must be dedicated to progressing their knowledge and practical skills to ensure they fully support the Vets with a range of potentially complex and critical cases.
