Work Experience Officer

to join the team to arrange, organise and monitor work experience placements for learners. This role will involve working alongside learners, lecturers and local employers.

Salary Details:

Scale: BS22-25 (currently £28,308-£30,652 pro rata)

This is a 4-point incremental scale with progression to each point on an annual basis. Commencing salaries will be assessed in accordance with the College's starting salaries matrix.

Hours of Work:

37 hours per week over 38 weeks per year (Worked over the College's 36 term weeks from September to June, plus additional admin weeks).

Contract Type:

Salaried term time only - Permanent

Qualifications:

You will hold a relevant Level 3 qualification and;

If not currently held, it is essential to undertake and achieve the IOSH General Certificate within an agreed timescale.

Experience:

You will have up to date knowledge of Health & Safety law and best practices, alongside a high level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Experience in supporting employers, conducting Health & Safety monitoring, and vetting workplaces is advantageous. Familiarity with child protection policies and procedures would be highly desirable.

As part of a small team, the post-holder will focus on raising the employability levels of learners by organising and managing the work experience programme. This includes delivering group and one-to-one training sessions to prepare learners for the workplace. A genuine passion for supporting and developing young people is essential, as is confidence in liaising with employers.

Exceptional IT, organisational, and customer service skills are critical for success in this role. The role requires off-site travel to assess workplaces to ensure that they meet safety standards for our learners; therefore, it is a requirement to have access to transport as frequent travel is critical to the position.
