£400 per day umbrella

About the Role
Westminster City Council is seeking a skilled Technical Surveyor to join our Housing Services team. This vital role supports the effective preparation of investment tasks and task orders within our Housing Revenue Account (HRA) investment programme. Reporting to the Commissioning Manager, the Technical Surveyor ensures that all pre-construction activities meet high technical standards, deliver value for money, and comply with the Partnering Agreement. Key Responsibilities
Review and challenge client briefs to ensure they meet investment needs and minimize inefficiencies. Act as the technical lead for pre-construction activities, appraising proposed solutions from service providers. Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to develop accurate budgets, designs, and technical appraisals. Review planning, building control, and listed building consent applications to ensure compliance. Provide technical input into design standards and innovative solutions. Monitor and report on task progress, identifying and mitigating risks. Support seamless handovers to operational teams for task delivery. What They're Looking For
Proven experience in technical surveying within housing or property services. Strong understanding of design standards, planning, and building regulations. Exceptional problem-solving and risk management skills. Effective communication and collaboration with diverse stakeholders, including residents and contractors.
