Job Description

We are working with one of the UK’s fastest growing renewable energy companies who are looking for a Junior/Trainee Engineer to join the team. They installed the 3rd most Heat Pumps in the UK in 2024. As a Junior Engineer, you will be given 6 months of extensive training on the servicing, repair, fault diagnosis, and commissioning of ASHP/GSHPs and underfloor heating, as well as completing several heat pump qualifications during your probation. The company started in 2016 and has grown to become one of the UK’s most established and effective suppliers, installers, and service providers for Heat Pumps throughout the UK. They are experts in installing and servicing ASHP, GSHP, UFH, and other heating systems. They also act as an accredited supplier for multiple heat pump manufacturers and have built an installer network nationwide, providing the structure for heating companies to diversify into heat pump installation. They provide other businesses with the design for each installation, supply them with the units and materials, and then send their Engineers along to commission, snag, and sign off the system, taking care of all of the MCS paperwork as well. As a Renewables Engineer, you are responsible for servicing and maintaining existing heat pump installations, fault diagnosis on heat pumps when things go wrong, commissioning new installations, and carrying out surveys for customers considering a heat pump installation. The job is not an office job; you'll be on the road in your own van, visiting customers. The type of work you'll be carrying out will be physical; for example, you might be working in a basement plant room or in outbuildings. Whilst you will carry out a lot of your work on your own, you will be part of the technical team, which includes a team of excellent engineers as well as an office-based technical support team that is there to help you at all times! You will be working alongside the Senior Engineer in your area, learning everything you can about heat pumps before moving into a Qualified Engineer position with your salary increasing once you are ready. They are all about progression, and the company has an extremely positive culture, with their staff retention being at 95% since their conception. The original 10 members of the team are still with the business, and over the last 7 years, they have grown the business to 50 staff and a turnover of £10 million. Minimum Requirements

Have completed an apprenticeship in any relevant trade. This could be Plumbing & Heating, Electrical, Refrigeration, or HVAC, or any relevant Engineering apprenticeship. Have a full UK driving license with no more than 6 points on it. Junior Heat Pump Engineer Salary & Remuneration

Salary £25,000 - £30,000 (increasing quickly as you train) Company Van + Fuel Card Paid Overtime Extensive training from day 1 Company profit share scheme Tools, Uniform, PPE Company Pension Field Engineering career pathway, ongoing training, development giving you comprehensive experience with servicing, repair, commissioning, diagnosis, and refrigeration works. Your salary will increase as you hit milestones in your training.
