One day per week (7 hours) - fixed working day to be agreed to suit candidate. The 3D-Making team supports students from across the school to develop their ideas in wood, metal, and plastics. We are seeking a part-time Metalwork Technician to join the Metal team, working one fixed day a week of your choosing. You will enjoy working in a creative and dynamic educational environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the metalwork facilities. You will provide support and supervision to students working with metal. You will foster and maintain a welcoming and accessible community resource responsive to student needs while ensuring compliance with health and safety guidelines and best practice. You will ideally be qualified to HND level (or able to demonstrate experience to an equivalent level) and have significant experience in metalwork fabrication. A knowledge of Mill and Lathe work is advantageous but not a necessity, and a broader understanding of 3D making practice and use of 3D CAD software is desirable.
