Our client is a small but well-established Architectural firm, who has designed, built, and extended homes, delivering spaces that meet the needs of their clients and their families. From delivering large developments for a housing association through to individual new build homes, residential conversions and extensions, space planning, internal refurbishments and interior design, our client takes a bespoke approach to architectural design to offer their clients a service that is tailored to their exact requirements.

The Role:

Primary responsibilities will involve translating the design concepts created by architects into detailed technical drawings and specifications that can be used for construction. Projects include: Healthcare, Care homes, Student Accommodation, Residential, Industrial, Sunderland Civic Centre, etc.

Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders. Ensure designs meet technical and regulatory standards. Produce comprehensive construction documentation, including detailed drawings, schedules, and specifications. Review and evaluate contractor submittals to ensure compliance with design intent and specifications. Research and select appropriate materials, finishes, and construction methods. Use BIM software to create and manage digital representations of the physical and functional characteristics of buildings. Oversee the technical aspects of projects from conception to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets. Coordinate with various teams, including architects, engineers, contractors, and consultants. Utilize advanced software and technology tools for drafting, modelling, and project management. Explore and implement innovative technologies to enhance the efficiency of design and documentation processes. Address and resolve technical issues that may arise during the various phases of a project. Collaborate with clients and present technical information, providing clarification when necessary.

Hours of work are Monday to Friday (Apply online only) - opportunity for Hybrid working.

The Person:

Architectural Technician, Architectural Technologist or Architectural Assistant. Proficiency in CAD (Revit cross training provided). Commute to Darlington daily.
