Are you a dedicated and ambitious engineer with a knack for bridging design and project delivery? SYSTRA is thrilled to offer an opportunity for an Engineer to join our esteemed Bridges Engineering team. If you possess excellent teamwork, interpersonal and technical skills, and commercial awareness, you could be the perfect fit for our high-performance team. This role focuses on the design of Conventional Rail and High-Speed Rail infrastructure and supports various Product Lines in the UK and abroad. You would be designer and site liaison on a variety of bridge design, strengthening, renewals and refurbishment projects. Based in Birmingham, you'll collaborate with UK engineers on diverse projects, enjoying the flexibility of hybrid working while spending considerable time at our client offices on site. Missions/Main Duties

Take responsibility for the Preparation of bridge repair, refurbishment or replacement design. Prepare reports, specifications as required in the preparation of design work. Supervise the production of drawings. Plan and deliver bridge surveys and inspections including recording of all relevant information. Complete bridge assessment calculation and reporting. Representation of the design team in site based roles, providing technical support during the construction phase. Manage delivery of projects – take responsibility for budget and resource deployment on projects. Where required take responsibility for project delivery to agreed budgets. Where required prepare estimates for work items. Identify scope change items. Manage resources at a project level to ensure utilisation and productivity is maintained. Profile/Skills

Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering Experience of carrying out Network Rail CRE role in bridge design across a range of structure types Experience of providing technical support to design and delivery teams Support of developing team members Experience of working on Network Rail Bridge Assessments an advantage but not essential Collaborative and communication skills Why SYSTRA?
