This job application is restricted to applicants in the UK only. Job Overview We are seeking a skilled and qualified Panel Beater/MET Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be ATA/IMI qualified with a strong background in insurance vehicle repair, working to Thatcham methods and digitally documenting the repair on tablets. Market leading software will be at your disposal - Autoflow, Audatex, Gt Motive, E-scribe Thatcham methods, Xero Accounting for payroll and Holiday bookings for seamless time management. As a Senior Panel Beater/Met Technician, you will be responsible for working with the estimator to identify Damage, where repairs could be achieved over panel replacement, accurately assisting with opinion times on repair and a deep understanding of the insurance repair process. We are able to consider flexible working requests for this role including a 4 day working week or reduced hours. Responsibilities Assess damaged vehicle Parts and Panels to determine the necessary replace or repair techniques. Seek and follow methods on the appropriate repair procedure for all vehicles. Quickly report additional damage back to the estimator. Open communication with the on-site estimator on repair methods and times. Take measurements and appraise vehicles for movement of structural components. Weld and fit components as required to restore structural integrity. Maintain a clean and organised workspace while adhering to safety protocols. Liaise with MET technicians for stripping and refitting of vehicles and Paint Technicians for painting process. Skills Proficient in using hand tools and power tools relevant to vehicle body repair. Achieving satisfactory repairs within the time estimated. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot issues effectively. Experience in welding techniques and equipment. Ability to assemble parts accurately while maintaining attention to detail. Capability of heavy lifting, ensuring safety measures are followed during physical tasks. Familiarity with maintaining equipment for optimal functionality. Training and Qualifications The ideal candidate will have current ATA/IMI/equivalent qualifications relating to panel repair, welding and MET. However up to date training or renewal of qualifications can be provided for the right person with a wealth of experience. EV qualifications beneficial but will be provided.
