Role Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Multi-Trader with a strong carpentry bias to join our dynamic team. The role involves working on reactive maintenance projects for social housing properties, ensuring timely and high-quality repairs to maintain tenant satisfaction and property standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Carpentry Work: Perform a wide range of carpentry tasks, including repairs, installations, and modifications to doors, windows, flooring, kitchen units, and other wooden fixtures. Carry out joinery work, such as building custom fittings or refurbishing existing structures.

Reactive Maintenance: Respond promptly to maintenance requests across a variety of trades, including plumbing, tiling, plastering, and basic electrical work. Diagnose issues and perform repairs to ensure properties are safe and habitable.

Property Inspections: Assess the condition of housing units to identify required repairs or potential hazards. Provide accurate reports on completed tasks or additional works required.

Compliance and Safety: Adhere to all health and safety regulations while on-site. Ensure all work complies with building codes and organizational standards.

Customer Interaction: Communicate effectively with tenants to explain work being carried out and manage expectations. Represent the company professionally at all times.

Skills & Qualifications:

Essential: Proven experience as a Multi-Trader, with a strong emphasis on carpentry. Proficient in a range of secondary trades, including basic plumbing, tiling, and plastering. NVQ Level 2/3 in Carpentry or equivalent qualification. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Desirable: Experience in social housing maintenance or a similar field. Basic knowledge of electrical systems. Familiarity with using a PDA or similar systems for job tracking.

Requirements:

Valid UK driving license. Own tools (specialist equipment provided by the company). Willingness to undergo a DBS check. Flexibility to work occasional out-of-hours or weekend shifts if required.
