Sensory Support Officer - Deaf & Sensory Network (DSN)

Location: Northwich, Chester or Macclesfield with travel across Cheshire, Flintshire & Wrexham Salary: £24,800 per annum for Full Time Role, £12,400 per annum for Part Time Role (Depending on experience) Hours: Full Time (37 hours), Part Time (18.5 hours) - 2 Posts Closing date for applications: Wednesday 26th June 2024 DSN are recruiting two Sensory Support Officers to join their highly effective social care team. They are a Disability Confident employer with vibrant offices in Macclesfield, Northwich and Chester. They offer support for deaf, deafblind and people with hearing loss across Cheshire, Flintshire & Wrexham. They are looking for professional & approachable individuals with a proactive attitude and the ability to work on their own initiative. In this post you will be: Working with deaf clients and those with hearing loss, including visiting people in their own homes Completing assessments Offering person-centred support including providing information, signposting, giving practical/emotional support to clients Providing advice on the use of specialist equipment that can support service users This position will involve regular travel in a wide geographical area; therefore, a full driving licence & use of a vehicle are essential to the role. You may also be required to provide support in other geographical areas to cover emergencies. You will be fully supported by an excellent programme of continuous training & development including training in British Sign Language.
