Night Shift Engineering Systems Technician Join our team at a leading Medical Technology Company based in Plymouth, England, and contribute to revolutionizing the production process in a high-volume manufacturing environment. We are seeking a dedicated Engineering Systems Technician for our night shift operations. This role involves a 3-days on, 3-days off shift pattern, from 11pm to 11am, and offers a substantial opportunity for professional growth and involvement in pioneering engineering solutions. The ideal candidate will provide crucial technical support, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and lead in the upgrade and maintenance of complex automation systems. Salary:

£30,000 to £34,000 per year plus bonuses, shift premium, and pension match Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Provide expert troubleshooting and repair of complex equipment issues, enhancing system performance and reliability. Guide production technicians by sharing in-depth knowledge and expertise concerning specific automated equipment. Mentor team members, fostering skill development in advanced fault diagnosis and effective use of technology. Utilize advanced diagnostic tools and software such as HMI screens, PCs, and MES to manage, troubleshoot, and optimize equipment operations. Initiate, design, and implement mechanical and electrical improvements to production equipment that lead to cost savings and enhanced productivity and safety. Collaborate across departments to support the introduction of new machinery and systems, ensuring seamless integration into production processes. Lead and manage small to mid-size projects focused on process enhancements, involving cross-functional team coordination. Minimum Position Qualifications: Level 3 qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or a combination of education and relevant experience. Demonstrable experience in a high-volume assembly or manufacturing role. Proficiency in utilizing SAP systems for maintenance logging, part ordering, and fault diagnostics. Strong foundational knowledge in hydraulics, pneumatics, robotics, and servo systems. Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to address technical challenges swiftly and effectively. Excellent communication skills and a positive outlook essential for effective mentoring and teamwork. Preferred Qualifications: Advanced certifications or specialized training in industrial maintenance, electrical systems, or robotics. Previous leadership experience or role in a technical mentorship capacity within a manufacturing setting. Experience with Continuous Improvement techniques including Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma. Skills: Expertise in mechanical and electrical system troubleshooting and repair. Ability to interpret and utilize technical diagrams and schematics for advanced machinery. Strong analytical skills for effective problem identification and solution development. Proficient in the use of IT tools and software related to engineering functions.
