Five GCSEs at Grade 5 or above which includes: Physics and English, Grade 6 in Mathematics. Assessment
The course is assessed through a mixture of examination (80%) and extended realization tasks (20%), split across three components. Component 1 and component 2 are both examinations covering the entirety of the A-level Electronics specification from the two years of study. Component 3 is coursework comprised of two extended realization tasks, including the development of a microcontroller system, and an extended project involving both analog and digital subsystems designed to meet a desired function and criteria. The coursework component of the course is developed alongside theoretical content across both years. Equipment Needed
Students will need any scientific calculator, although the Casio FX series are recommended. Develop your own projects beyond the scope and requirements of the course with the use of Raspberry Pi boards. You will also visit top universities and hear directly from employers within the electronics industry about career opportunities and their experiences as trained professionals.
