Job Description: Are you an experienced machinist with either a NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Machining (inclusive for anyone pre 1990 and post 1990)? If yes, we have an exciting opportunity for you. At Leonardo Helicopters, we have vacancies for Machinists to work within a fast-paced growing organisation working across Transmission component machining facilities. As a Machine Operator with a NVQ Level 2, you will have knowledge and extensive experience of machining operations and will be expected to focus on only one or two processes/ disciplines. As a Machinist with a NVQ Level 3, you will have diverse abilities to operate manual and CNC machinery with knowledge and experience of a multitude of machining operations. Salary & Allowances: NVQ Level 2 - £34,689.00 per year plus 16% shift allowance on day shift or 41% on night shift NVQ Level 3 - £39,612.08 per year plus 16% shift allowance on day shift or 41% on night shift Shift Patterns available: Double-day weekly shift rotation: Monday - Friday (early shift 06:00 - 14:00 & late shift 14:00 - 22:00) Night shift: Sunday (00:00 – 06:00) & Monday to Thursday (22:00 – 06:00) If you decide one of these roles could be for you and apply, please make sure you upload your qualifications in order to be considered for the relevant role. Key Responsibilities Include: Machine setting and operating Jig setting and tool building Machining dimensional tolerances typically of 0.005mm Achieving surface finish tolerances typically of 0.4 μm Following the job priorities list board Working in adherence to controlled documentation and process sketches Working in adherence to secured and proven machine programs Participation with scrap & rework investigations to determine root cause Working in adherence to company health & safety policies and procedures Main interfaces include: Liaison with inspectors to qualify 'first off' component of batch Providing support to maintenance engineers where required Security Clearance: You must be eligible for full security clearance.
