RWE Renewables offers a valuable 3-year apprenticeship scheme for motivated individuals to develop into technicians working on wind turbines. The first 2 years will be classroom-based at a bespoke wind turbine training facility at Coleg Llandrillo, Rhyl in North Wales, followed by on-site training at Sofia Offshore Wind Farm in Grimsby during the 3rd year. Main Purpose of Job:
The program includes a comprehensive learning experience with classroom-based instruction and hands-on training. Completion will result in an NVQ level 3 qualification in wind turbine operations and maintenance and a level 3 diploma in wind turbine maintenance. Technicians will work as part of a small team assigned to specific offshore wind farms, learning to perform all aspects of wind turbine maintenance, including scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, as well as troubleshooting. Candidate Requirements:
Candidates should be eager to learn and prepared for a practical role. Standby or on-call may be required due to the role's complexity. The work involves a 14-day on, 14-day off rotation from a Service Operation Vessel (SOV). Accommodation will be provided in Chester during term time for the first 2 years, along with travel expenses for journeys between the Grimsby region and the term time address.
